Founded by a Wuhan University alumni couple, Linli New Energy received hundreds of millions of yuan in a new round of financing

Linli New Energy was founded by Professor Zhang Youxiang and Dr. Ma Xiaoling of Wuhan University. The company focuses on the R&D and production of lithium iron phosphate cathode material precursors and is the leading precursor supplier in China. It is a demonstration project for the industrialization of university scientific and technological achievements in high-performance lithium battery cathode materials.

Since this year, driven by the rapid increase in installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate power batteries and the demand for energy storage, domestic demand for lithium iron phosphate has grown rapidly. From January to September 2021, domestic demand for lithium iron phosphate reached 253,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 227.54%. Against the background of rapid growth in demand for lithium iron phosphate, the industry prosperity of upstream materials has also increased significantly, ushering in an increase in both volume and price. As the penetration rate of vehicle electrification further increases and large-scale energy storage applications occur, the market share of lithium iron phosphate is expected to further expand. Linli New Energy's main product, lithium iron phosphate precursor, is expected to fully benefit from the expansion of market space brought about by the high prosperity of lithium iron phosphate.
